About Bob Broughton.

Landscaping Montana since 1985.

Based in the scenic Bitterroot Valley, I am a Montana-licensed landscape architect (license #93). I enjoy working with clients who want to integrate the natural beauty of Western Montana with their homes.

Whether the project is a single-family home, a mountain estate, or a commercial property, I strive to help my clients transform their needs and dreams into thoughtful outdoor spaces. I draw on more than 45 years of landscape design experience to create design solutions for projects large and small.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Landscape Architecture in 1973. I began my career as a landscape architect, designing playgrounds, community recreation centers, regional parks, and golf courses for the City of St. Paul, Minnesota.

I moved to Montana in 1985 and started Empire Landscaping, a design and build company specializing in landscape design and installation. Our services included landscape construction, landscape maintenance, irrigation, hardscapes, native landscaping, drought-tolerant landscaping (xeriscaping), and outdoor entertainment areas. My extensive construction background allows me to create detailed master plans and designs that are efficient to implement.

In my private practice, I design meaningful and sustainable landscapes that reflect the natural wonder of the Rocky Mountains.
